Two frequencies at your thumb, no cables anywhere
The HG-UV79UV is the radio we fly with ourselves. Bluetooth 5.0 is built into the radio, so it connects straight to your helmet headset. You don’t need an external Bluetooth module, adapter cable or dongle. Pair your headset once, and from then on the radio and headset reconnect automatically whenever you switch them on.
The updated version comes with a Bluetooth PTT with two buttons. The radio listens on two frequencies at the same time, and each PTT button transmits on one of them. You choose who hears you with a single thumb press, without switching channels in flight.
How pilots use the two buttons:
- XC flying: gaggle or buddy channel on button A, retrieve driver on button B
- Tow and winch launching: launch or tow frequency on A, your buddies on B
- Schools and tandem: students on A, landing field or colleagues on B
- Competitions and fly-ins: team channel on A, organiser or safety channel on B
Made for a full flying day
The 2,500 mAh lithium battery and the low-power Bluetooth 5.0 chip gave us more than 10 hours of talk time and over 30 hours of standby in our own testing. Charge it over USB-C at home, in the car on the way to launch, or from a power bank. You don’t need a separate charging cradle.
Clear sound
We were surprised how much clearer the audio is than on the familiar budget radios. Bluetooth noise reduction works well. You can set the headset volume and microphone sensitivity in the radio menu. Tip: add a fur microphone windshield to your headset mic to cut wind noise a lot.

FAQ
Will it work with my Bluetooth helmet headset?
It pairs with most standard Bluetooth helmet headsets. We have tested it with the E1+ and VODOOL headsets from our shop.
Do I have to pair the headset before every flight?
No. You pair it once, and after that it reconnects automatically.
The menu arrived in Chinese. How do I switch to English?
